Take Back the Filter
Did you know Brita water filters are recycled in Europe? Take Back the Filter, a campaign based in San Francisco, hopes to convince Clorox in the US to do the same. You can help Take Back the Filter create a visual message by sending your used Brita filters in to them! You can also sign the petition online, write a letter to Clorox, or host your own filter collection drop-off. OR, if you live in Folsom, meet up with me to turn in your Brita filter!
You can also refill your own Brita filters from home! Check out these step-by-step instructions and the commentary feedback.

- Pollution is trash too, right? TreeHugger’s 100 Mile Thanksgiving Challenge asks you to cut down on transportation pollution by creating a Thanksgiving meal menu from ingredients only available within 100 miles of your home! The official contest ended in 2006, but you can check out other people’s menus and build one of your own.
